How to volunteer with the Dr Edward Koch Foundation
Volunteers are the backbone of our organisation and without them much of the work we do would not be possible. Each year, local community members volunteer their time, skills and energy to help us continue our work in suicide prevention and public health matters.
Volunteers support The Dr Edward Koch Foundation in a variety of ways, for example, we have a volunteer receptionist, several administration officers, project officers, funding submission writers, a newsletter creator and a handyman.
The Dr Edward Koch Foundation is, and always has been, a volunteer based organisation. We enjoy the support of over 10 regular volunteers, who help at the Foundation on a weekly basis. There are also many others who contribute their time on a needs basis for fundraising events, workshops and various other activities. Duties can be as diverse as raffle ticket selling to cooking on a barbecue at a sausage sizzle. We even need help taking minutes of meetings and report writing.
Our five volunteer dance teachers at the Simply Ballroom Dance School have also been generous supporters of the Foundation. The foundation is very appreciative of the time volunteers give across a broad range of activities.
